Wedding Cakes for a Special Few

Every so often, someone close to me gets married and asks if I'd make the cake. I can't say they're my favourite bakes. Honestly, I find them extremely nerve-wracking! There's nothing like carrying a tiered cake into a venue and hoping it arrives in one piece. More than once I've needed friends to help me drive it to the venue, and it doesn't help when you are also meant to be celebrating the day yourself! This is a little record of a few of them. The one above is a vanilla sponge layered with my homemade raspberry jam and finished with a vanilla meringue buttercream. It's light, not too sweet, and made with the same jam I use in my shortbread hearts.

I don't take wedding cake orders, as I only make them for a special few, but I'd love to share the photos with you.
