In a Nutshell
Some of my earliest memories are of coming home to the smell of freshly baked bread and scones drifting through the house. Growing up, I took my mother's baking completely for granted, it was only later that I understood what a gift it was to have that kind of warmth woven into everyday life.
For as long as I can remember, my own baking has been at the heart of how I connect with the people I love. Friends and family would count down to my visits, not just for the company but for whatever I'd turn up with. Shelly's grew out of that impulse, the desire to share something genuinely homemade, and the belief that a thoughtful gift can say what words sometimes can't.
By day, I'm an architect, someone who thinks carefully about how things are made, how they feel, and what they mean. That same instinct shapes everything at Shelly's. Every treat is baked fresh from scratch, made with premium ingredients, and finished with the kind of attention to detail that only comes when you care deeply about what you're putting into the world.
My curiosity about food also takes me further afield, I'm always planning my next trip to somewhere new, drawn in by different cuisines, ingredients, and baking traditions from around the world. It keeps my recipes evolving and my enthusiasm very much alive.
Sustainability isn't an add-on, it's just how I do things. Compostable packaging, locally sourced ingredients where possible, composting organic waste, and cycling to the post office for drop-offs. Small choices, made consistently.
